Drifting:

I believe that it has become such a popular sport because it envolves doing automobile stunts where you can surely end up hurting yourself really bad. It started in Japan a couple of decades already, but it has just recently started gaining popularity. Human's nature is to go really fast and show off; that might just be the male's side, but thats one reason for such interest in Drifting. Being able to control a vehicle at such high speeds while going downhill on a curvy road such as 94 East is what makes it interesting. Drifting is not meant to be done on public roads where people can get hurt; never try this in a public place. Cars can be modified not only with visual aspects, but with motor parts to make the Drifting experience more enjoyable and easier to do. There have been competitions to demonstrate who is the ultimate Drifting champion, not only in the U.S. but in other countries as well.

JDMism:

When Fast and Furious came out, all the adolescents wanted hondas with body kits, big rims, neon lights, and loud exhausts that could be heard a mile away. That was 4 years ago. Today, the adolescents are taking another approach to modifying their beloved Hondas. What better way to modify their honda, then by adding all the parts that are manufactured in Japan. This is where JDM comes into play. It used to be what kind of body kit you had on your vehicle, or the number of TV's inside your car. Today, it's how JDM you are. What is JDM you might ask? JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market. Anything built by Honda in Japan for its Honda vehicles is JDM. For example, a 1998 acura integra in Japan comes with long slender headlights, where as in the U.S. it comes with small round headlights. The round headlights would be considered USDM, versus the JDM ones. JDMism is very much the appeal or the desire for whatever the vehicle that was made in Japan comes with from the dealer.
